Frequently asked questions

The ideas behind Romergo, how the platform works, and what authors can expect.

Questions and answers

Why no-code?

Countless people have something worth telling, but not everyone knows how to program. Romergo exists to make interactive storytelling available to everyone, regardless of technical skills.

Why the browser?

The modern browser has become a universal application platform. It works on phones, tablets, computers, televisions, and many other devices without extra software, so Romergo was built for the browser from the beginning.

Why artificial intelligence?

AI is one of the most versatile tools of our time. It can help write and translate stories, create images and music, and speed up the creative process. It can also make creativity more accessible to people with disabilities, language barriers, or difficulty using traditional tools. I believe AI should strengthen human creativity, not replace it.

Why MCP?

MCP is a modern way for applications and AI agents to work together. It lets you write wherever you are comfortable and then bring the story into Romergo. I often draft my own stories as ordinary Markdown files in Obsidian and import them through MCP. Tools should adapt to people, not the other way around.

Why Discord?

Playing with friends is much more fun. Discord lets a group experience a story together, discuss what is happening, vote on choices, and turn a playthrough into a genuinely shared experience.

Why Telegram?

Telegram is my main way of communicating and one of my favorite apps. Telegram Mini Apps also let people launch a game in one tap inside the messenger, without installing anything else.

Who owns the content I create?

Everything you create in Romergo belongs only to you. Romergo does not claim ownership of your stories, images, music, or any other creative content.

How much does it cost?

Playing and creating stories is free. The Free plan currently includes 500 MB of storage for each creator. This limit exists only to keep the infrastructure affordable while Romergo is still at an early stage.

Can I export a project?

Yes. Every plan, including Free, lets the project owner download a documented .romergo archive. Pro and Team also create standalone games for web and itch.io, Windows and Steam, macOS, and Microsoft Store. Importing a .romergo archive creates a new draft, while work from other editors can be moved through your own AI agent and MCP.

How import and export work
